Limit Breaking (限界突破) a bromide increases the bromide's max level cap and enhances all its skills. The level cap and skill level cap differ depending on the rarity of the bromide. See the Strengthen section above for more details.

When limit breaking a bromide, any bromides of the same character can be used as material regardless of the rarity. Locked bromides will not be displayed as material. Duplicates of the same bromide will give additional points. See below for more information on how to efficiently limit break with duplicate bromides.

In addition to using bromides, you are also able to use Limit Break Maples as material. These can be obtained from Events, Weekly Missions, the Value Packs Shop, and the Normal Shop. They come in different forms which provide the following breakthrough EXP.

The following displays how much breakthrough EXP is grained from bromides and Limit Break Maples when used as limit break material.

Special Maples, such as Christmas Limit Break Maples, New Year Limit Break Maples, and 1st Anniversary Limit Break Maples, provide 400 breakthrough EXP each.

The required amount of breakthrough EXP a bromide needs to Limit Break is as follows. The numbers below are cumulative.

How to Limit Break Using Bromides

Be sure to check the section below for more information on how to efficiently limit break using duplicate bromides.

1. From the Strengthen screen, select the bromide you would like to level.
2. While on the Use Bromides (ブロマイドを使う) tab, select the bromide(s) you would like to use as material.
3. Click Confirm (決定) on the bottom right to confirm the selection.
   
   

How to Limit Break Using Limit Break Maples

1. From the Limit Break screen, select the bromide you would like to limit break.
2. Click into the Use Items (アイテムを使う) tab.
3. Select how many Limit Break Maples you would like to use on the bromide. You can also select Auto (オススメ) to automatically select Maples for you.
4. Click Confirm (決定) on the bottom right to confirm the selection.

Please note: If you use the Auto function, it selects the smallest Maples before using the larger ones, so you may end up using more Maples than you actually need. Be sure to check before confirming to make sure that you don't waste any Maples.

Limit Breaking with Duplicate Bromides

If you have multiples of the same bromide, there is a limit breaking method that reduces the number of Maples used. Copies of the same bromide give more EXP than other bromides of the same rarity. The Breakthrough EXP earned from maples is increased as well. Using duplicate bromides is most efficient way to reach the max Limit Break stage especially for Lv.80 bromides.

The formula for calculating Experience points obtained from bromides as material is:

Base EXP + ((Gained EXP x 2.50) / 2) ⟹ Base EXP + (Gained EXP x 1.25)

• Base EXP: The base breakthrough EXP gained from the material. See the chart above for the base EXP gained for each material.
• Gained EXP: The breakthrough EXP that the material gained.
• Same Bromide Multiplier: Using the same bromide as material gives a 2.50x bonus.

Limit breaking with this method requires limit breaking in a "chain" where you limit break the first bromide with maples, the second bromide with the first bromide, the third with the second, and so forth until you get to the max limit break on the final bromide. Please note: This method does not carry over bromide levels and EXP, only breakthrough EXP, so please make sure to use a leveled bromide as the last bromide in the chain.

The example below involves limit breaking using three of the same SSRs with and without the chain method.
