The Battle (バトル) screen allows you to play songs to battle summoned Dark Monsters. Playing a song on any difficulty will consume 5 Iyahoi. Unlike Free Lives, Dark Monster battles cannot be played without Iyahoi. Defeating Dark Monsters is required to complete the Weekly Missions and to earn Event Points during Battle Events.

Overview

Dark Monsters are spawned by finding myumon visitors in your Town with a dark Melodisian. These myumon are spawned randomly. Tapping them will reveal a Dark Monster. A quick way to complete the Dark Monster Weekly Missions is by fighting those that are spawned through the Main Story episodes.

Once the Dark Monster is revealed, the you can tap it again to be taken to the Details page. The page can also be accessed from Battle (バトル) in the Free Live menu. Please note, clicking another myumon with a dark Melodisian after leaving the Town and returning will spawn a different monster. Only one Dark Monster can be battled at a time and you will be prompted to Give Up (あきらめる) their current monster for the newly spawned one or Battle (バトルする) their current monster.

Dark Monsters will last for 3 hours before escaping. If their HP isn't brought to 0 before the timer is up, the you will not receive any rewards. The Main Story and 69 Memories storylines occasionally require you to defeat a story-spawned Dark Monster to progress the storyline. These monsters will last for 2 days before disappearing.

Battling a Dark Monster

Dark Monsters are spawned with a randomly selected song and HP amount. You can spend 5 Iyahoi to attempt to battle the monster by playing a song. It's possible to increase the amount of Iyahoi used in order to increase the damage multiplier.

You will be given a specific number of attempts to defeat the Dark Monster and failure to defeat it within that number will result in the monster escaping. Successfully defeating the monster will reward a a fair amount of sound dollars, bromide EXP, and band EXP. Exiting the Battle page will not cause the monster to disappear, and the monster will be able to be fought at any time from the page until it's time runs out. You will have 10 attempts to defeat monsters spawned from the storyline.

To receive help from other players, you can share your Monster ID with others to allow them to help battle it. Other players only need to spend 2 Iyahoi to help battle and will receive sound dollars from helping. They will only be able to take the monster's health to 1 HP. The last HP must be finished by the player who spawned it.
